School Vision & Values
These are our school values, and they play an integral role within our school community.
The values are:
Our whole school community (pupils, staff, parents and governors) have all had a chance to consider the vision of our school and the values that we believe represent our ethos. The six words we have listed above were chosen by consensus to represent our values. We will have these running through everything we do as a school and they will form the basis for discussions with the children and with each other. They enable us to talk about how we learn; foster excellent behaviour and give our children lifelong skills. These skills are celebrated weekly in our celebration assembly and children reflect daily on how these attributes help them learn.
The British values are: Democracy, The Rule of Law, Individual liberty, Mutual respect and Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs. They are embedded throughout our PSHCE Lifeskills curriculum and are visited regularly within assemblies.
We believe that integrating these within the children’s learning, alongside a carefully planned SMSC calendar, enables our children to reflect upon and develop understanding of the key Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural values.
