PE

“Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness.” – Joseph Pilates

“You dream. You plan. You reach. There will be obstacles. There will be doubters. There will be mistakes. But with hard work, with belief, with confidence and trust in yourself and those around you, there are no limits.” - Michael Phelps

At Cranmere we provide our children with a broad and enjoyable PE curriculum which enables them to develop their skills and physical competence. Our engaging and inclusive curriculum promotes fundamental movement skills. As children move through the school, they develop their agility, balance and coordination and work cooperatively in teams. Children are given a range of opportunities to compete in sport where the core values of resilience, respect, self-belief and responsibility are weaved throughout. Wellbeing is at the heart of our PE curriculum and we empower children to use physical activity as a tool to support positive mental and physical health. Children learn to be physically active for sustained periods of time and reflect on the impact this has on the mind and body. We teach children to express themselves through movement and practice discipline, self-belief and resilience when learning to master the areas of the primary PE curriculum. We recognise the positive impact of the outdoors on our wellbeing and use our extensive school site to be physically active outdoors regularly.
