Welcome to Cranmere Primary School and Nursery,

Cranmere staff, governors and I are pleased that we have been able to welcome back all of our children.  We have prioritised the health and safety of our school community to minimise the risk of transmission of the Covid-19 virus as best we can.  Further details of our preventative efforts can be found under the heading Latest News on this page.

For those of you who are interested in attending an open day for a Reception place at Cranmere Primary in Esher, we normally hold these in the Autumn Term. Further information on tours and on in-year admissions can be found on our admissions page (which can be found under the 'office' menu button).  In the meantime, we have also put together a short video tour of our school, which is here on the front page of our website - we hope that by watching this you can get a flavour of our school.

I am proud to say that Cranmere is a happy and caring school which is well supported by a very strong community of parents, families, Governing Body and local residents. Our children are polite, bright and engaging as a result of our family friendly ethos. We are fortunate to have a beautiful and well equipped new school building in the heart of Esher, behind Sandown Racecourse, which opened in April 2016 and is set within extensive and beautiful grounds which enhances and extends our teaching curriculum.

I have an incredibly hard working and dedicated staff team whose main aim is to ensure that above all, each and every child is a happy, motivated and enthusiastic learner who embraces learning and relishes challenge. As a staff team we are fully committed and continually strive to provide the very best learning opportunities and experiences through an exciting curriculum for all our children, from our Nursery through to Year 6, so that they can reach their full potential both academically and spiritually. Our aim is to equip our children with skills that will serve them well in education and in their lives as future citizens.  Please click here to view our school priorities this year.

We are a fully inclusive school. Our 6 R’s (Responsibility, Resourcefulness, Reflectiveness, Reasoning, Respectful and Resilient) alongside Fundamental British Values (democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs) underpins our everyday practice so that all members of our school community respect and support one another as well as feel valued and safe. Each and every child’s safety and well-being is a priority.

We have a strong and active ‘Friends of Cranmere Association’ who organise many fundraising and social events throughout the year which are enjoyed by everyone and greatly benefit our children and provide additional resources for our school.

Visits to our school are warmly welcomed and once here you will see, hear and feel just what makes our school a great environment in which to learn and work. We are all very proud of our school and we are excited about the next step in our journey as we expand to serve our community further.

With Regards,
Mrs Kathie Daniels

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all members of staff and visitors to share this commitment.

Here is an extract from our most recent Ofsted Report which was conducted in 2020:

What is it like to attend this school?

"Leaders aspire for every pupil at Cranmere to achieve well, enjoy school and be well prepared for the future. The school is a happy learning community and there is a strong sense of teamwork.

In lessons and around school, pupils behave well and get on well together. Pupils are respectful of each other and their teachers. They describe their school as friendly, welcoming and fun. Pupils like the way that everyone is valued. They are full of enthusiasm for learning and thoroughly enjoy coming to school. Pupils appreciate the school’s 6Rs: ‘Responsibility, Resourcefulness, Reflectiveness, Reasoning, Respectful and Resilient.’ They say these make the school a better place and help everyone to be kind and behave well. Pupils love the way they can get involved in helping around the school by taking on extra responsibilities. They enjoy the many after-school clubs and activities. As one pupil commented, ‘There is always something going on.’

Bullying is not a problem and the occasional fall out is sorted out quickly. Pupils feel safe at school and say that their teachers are kind and always there to support them." - Ofsted Report February 2020
